The gear offered is one of 6 different double tooth wheels for digital VDO speedometer.
These differ in the number of teeth of the smaller gear. The number of teeth of the larger gear is basically 20.

The original beige-brown gears crumble after the years and have to be exchanged.

After expansion, please count the teeth of the smaller gear and order the corresponding gear in the shop. We have only set separate offers for unequivocal assignments (vehicle model for gear variant).

Advantages:
Our gears are made of high -quality thermoplastic plastic. This enables very good dimensions and an evolvent form of the teeth, which run particularly gently on the partner gear.
We have all the gears for VDO and other speedometers in our program and can therefore also deliver afterwards or exchange incorrectly ordered gears.

Mechanical = tachosignal arrives analogously via a speedometer woe

The purchase of a used speedometer may save the repair, but the risk that the gear will break promptly here too. In particular, storage times and cold temperatures damage the gears.
If you have disassembled the speedometer, the exchange of the light bulbs is also recommended. Over the years, these noticeably lose performance. You are available from every car dealership and accessories business.

If you disassemble the speedometer in advance, please note that the shaft of the speedometer needle is very sensitive. Grab the speedometer needle in the middle and turn clockwise. Pull lightly. Friction is everything the needle keeps on the wave.
